Family Activities - Fun Do Together Recipes
Summer, spring, winter and fall . . . every season is the perfect season for do together family activities that bring magic into every day of the year. Here are a few of our favorite family activities for every season to help make all your days joyous and bright. Spring Family Activities: Oreo Ladybugs Taking a package of Oreos or other chocolate snack cookie, coat one side of the cookie with red decorative icing. Next, place on a white gumdrop for the ladybug’s face, chocolate chips for his spots and six pieces of licorice strings cut into thirds for the legs. Finish off by placing two dots of black decorative icing for the ladybug eyes and red decorative icing for their smiles. Fall Family Activities Pumpkin Cupcakes Start out with a batch of cupcakes that have cooled from the oven. Create orange icing by mixing a bit of red and yellow food coloring into the mix and then frosting the cupcakes. Place a half of a pretzel stick into the center of each cupcake for the stems. Eat and enjoy! Winter Family Activities Marshmallow Snowmen Place three marshmallows on top of one another and slide a toothpick into the center to join all three. Use decorative icing to create the snowmen’s eyes and smile. Give him a cute scarf by tying a string of licorice around his neck and fraying the ends to create tassels. Give your snowmen buttons by placing a dollop of icing on and then placing candy on top. Summer Family Activities Watermelon Flowers Using a melon scoop, create watermelon balls. Place in the center of a plate. Go around the edge of the watermelon with grapes to create the petals. You can also make longer petals with slices of cantaloupe. Finish off with a leaf shaped piece of honeydew. Serve chilled and eat up! Through all the seasons of the year, take time to spend with the ones you love the most making special memories that last all life through. Go for a walk in the park, take a drive down to the ocean for seashell finds, go for a scavenger hunt in your own back yard or simply sit curled beneath a blanket with a good storybook.
