Fun Do Together Family Activities

Family Activity

If your little ones are getting a case of cabin fever, liven up the day with a fun family activity the whole family can enjoy. From yummy recipes with whimsical flare to fun games that brighten up a boring day, here are few of our favorite family activities that are sure to put a smile on your little one’s face.

Messy House Scavenger Hunt

If you can’t remember the last you saw your floors, dirty socks grace the nearest lampshade and the pizza beneath your child’s bed is growing eyeballs, then this family activity is perfect for you and your bunch. Print out a list of scavenger hunt items for your little ones to search for. This can be anything from toy cars and red socks to candy wrappers and lost earrings. Make sure to throw in a few hard to find items to keep the search fun.

Give the little ones baskets to hold all of their items and give the winner a prize. If you have a big family, consider giving each child a prize for their efforts. Purchase prizes at places like the Dollar Tree or buy prizes in bulk and save for later. This idea is sure to bust boredom and help you get the house back into shape all at the same time.

The Dinosaur Egg Hunt

This family activity will make all their dino dreams come to life. Hang on to all of those Easter eggs this spring and hide them away for quick, seasonless fun. Take a trip to the Dollar store and pick up packs of tiny dinosaurs and lizards. Place them inside of the Easter eggs and hide them for a Paleontologist egg hunt. Let the kids pretend that they are searching for new species of dinosaur. Even hide some in the sand box or dirt and give the little ones shovels to go on a real life “dig”.

Use this idea as a backdrop for other ideas. Such as hiding the eggs inside on a rainy day when the little ones are a bit stir crazy and not able to play outdoors.

All a boring day needs is a fun family activity to make everyone smile. Lighten up the day with fun and togetherness. Snuggle up with a good book, play a game or make a craft. The possibilities are endless. All you need is your imagination and the ones you hold dear.
